I booked a trip to Key West as a Christmas present for my wife. We stayed at the Curry mansion 2/16-2/19. We love old homes & the Curry fits the bill. It's an amazing old house that is, overall, in pretty nice shape. The downstairs is pretty much for sightseeing only & there are many interesting pictures, furniture, etc. in these 3-4 rooms. The guest rooms are upstairs & we had 208 just at the top of the stairs. Obviously, the house didn't originally have a bathroom/sink in each room but they do now & managed not to disturb too much of the original architecture. Satellite TV & a refrigerator along with a comfortable king size bed made the room very comfortable. All locks on the house, the front door & each guest room have combination locks. We were texted with the combinations before we arrived. During our stay, we didn't see much of the staff but they were available via text. We didn't spend any time at the pool but it looked like a relaxing area. They set up a bar in the evenings which was convenient & the huge veranda is stocked full of rocking chairs to enjoy the view. The place sits about 50 yards off Duval Street which is convenient but may be too close. At night, you can easily hear the music coming from the bars. We didn't mind it but some might. We also could hear people each night returning to their rooms after being overserved. Again, not a big deal but may not be for everyone. We had an awesome visit to Key West and enjoyed our stay at the Curry.
