My husband and I booked a last minute trip to Kiawah and I was lucky enough to find this appropriately-sized place with great beach access. The house was exactly as described, no frills and you need to bring all your cooking condiments/coffee/etc, though it’s well-stocked with dish and cooking ware. Plenty of towels for house use. The price is ok given the proximity to the ocean.
A problem with a ceiling fan was quickly addressed (Susie is responsive—thank you). The major issue was the master bed. It has a big ridge down the center of it that made us roll to each side. It also has a waterproof mattress cover (I don’t really blame them for that) that was incredibly noisy so I’d wake up every time my husband or I turned over. I ended up sleeping the rest of the stay in one of the single beds in the other room and my husband had to sleep at an angle in the master bed by himself. Pretty ridiculous and not very romantic. The twin beds were more comfy though still had the noisy waterproof mattress covers. Also, there’s loud rumbling/noise from, presumably, the neighbor’s AC. I managed to get used to that after the first night. One more thing: The tv. Cable only, couldn’t find a way to watch Netflix/etc. We’re not big tv watchers but wanting to unwind after a day out led us to cable shows and all their commercials. The tv is not a deal breaker, but the bed… bummer!
