The house is in a nice, quiet location between Princeville and Kilauea, close to Anini Beach. It is pretty well equipped with all the necessary kitchen gear. The place fit our group of six ( 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 small children) perfectly, with 3 bedrooms and a bonus room for the baby to sleep in. Our stay got off to rocky start as we were given the wrong access code to the lockbox. We called the property manager contact number but no one picked up or returned our multiple messages. We spent an anxious hour, with a three-year old and 9-month old, wondering what we were going to do. We finally called the number from which the erroneous text originated and someone was able to call us back with the correct code. While the property is in good condition overall, the appliances are old and in need of replacement. The dishwasher in particular was a problem. It doesn’t clean well and is very inefficient (3-4 hr cycle). We ran a load three times before decided that the “Hi-temp” cycle was the only way to get the soap pod to dissolve. Even that didn’t work every time and it still left a big lump of soap in the dispenser. The only other issue we had was the kitchen faucet handle. It was very loose and at one point fell off. This needs to be fixed! While none of the above problems ruined our trip they certainly detracted from our experience and overall impression of the property.
