They had special cultural events almost every night and the area was a great home base for getting around Kyoto. The rooms were lovely and modern with a traditional Japanese style. I enjoyed the onsen too (and that it was tattoo friendly in that you could buy stickers from the front desk that were a suitable cover).

This hotel is in an area that doesn't feel surrounded by tourist, but it has a wonderful variety of restaurants, shops and daily life places. It feels closer to living in Kyoto, not a holiday spot. The rooms are extremely small but the space is used cleverly so nothing is missing. It offers some luxury, its own onsen and all the comforts you would expect from a five star hotel.

Exceptional Stay – Highly Recommend!

We stayed for five nights and couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations-comfort, staff, breakfast, location, and amenities. The onsen was truly rejuvenating, offering a peaceful retreat with all the essentials we needed. The breakfast was well-priced and offered a fantastic variety, including authentic Kyoto-style obanzai and Western options, ensuring a delightful start to our mornings. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, going above and beyond to make our stay special. The rooms were exceptionally quiet and thoughtfully designed, with little touches like matcha, tea, coffee, and high-quality amenities that made us feel welcome and relaxed. We left feeling completely refreshed and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto. Looking forward to staying here again!
