Kyoto Tofukuji Samurai Machiya

Neben dem Bahnhof Tofukuji, einen bequemen 15-20-minütigen Spaziergang von Gion entfernt, wurde dieses geräumige Haus gerade renoviert.
Erleben und genießen Sie den traditionellen Lebensstil der Einwohner von Kyoto in modernem Komfort und Luxus.Bequem und komfortabel, ist dies ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Reisen mit bis zu 10 Personen in Kyoto.
Dieses Haus verfügt über 2 Schlafzimmer mit Tatami (Bett mit Futon) und 2 westliche Zimmer mit Doppelbett und Einzelbett.

Mit einer großen LDK (Wohn-Essküche), fünf Schlafzimmern und zwei Bädern (zusätzlich zu zwei Toiletten) ist dies bei weitem das größte unserer Kyoto-Samurai-Machiya-Häuser. Zu den luxuriösen Annehmlichkeiten zählen eine Klimaanlage in jedem Zimmer, eine Fußbodenheizung in jedem Raum im Erdgeschoss und Heizkörper im Obergeschoss. Sie werden sich sicher immer wohl fühlen.

Das Haus verfügt über drei Schlafzimmer mit japanischen Tatami-Matten (Schlafmöglichkeiten auf Futons) und zwei Schlafzimmer im westlichen Stil mit Doppel- und Einzelbetten. Im großen LDK, Wohn-Esszimmer, haben wir einen Wohnbereich mit Mantel, Couchtisch und großem Flachbildfernseher (HDTV), einen langen Esstisch für bis zu 12 Personen und eine voll ausgestattete moderne Küche.
Im Erdgeschoss verfügt das Haus über ein traditionelles Holzbad mit Badewanne / Dusche und ein Duschbad im Obergeschoss. Es gibt zwei Toiletten, eine auf jeder Etage. Das Haus ist auch mit einer vollautomatischen All-In-One Waschmaschine / Trockner für die Bequemlichkeit unserer Gäste ausgestattet.

Alles ist so gestaltet, dass es für größere Gruppen angenehm und bequem ist (ausgestattet und geräumig genug für bis zu 12 Personen).

Als unser Gast haben Sie uneingeschränkten Zugang zu superschnellem (Glasfaser-) Internetzugang über WLAN durch das Haus. Sie können unbegrenzte Filme mit Netflix, BBC, NHK oder FoxNews mit dem großen Flachbildfernseher (52 Zoll) genießen.

Die voll ausgestattete moderne Küche wird jedem gefallen, der zu Hause kochen möchte. Eine umfangreiche Auswahl an Kochutensilien, Induktionskochfeld, Geschirrspüler, Mikrowelle / Backofen, alle Arten von Geräten wie Reiskocher, Toaster, Mixer, Wasserkocher, normale Kaffeemaschine und Geschirr, Teller, Gläser, Gläser. Gäste Und natürlich finden Sie alle Grundzutaten wie Salzpfeffer, Öl, Sauce, Soja usw.

Perfect base
The house is beautiful (pictures are very accurate) and was a great base for exploring Kyoto. The house is perfectly renovated, combining old world charm and modern functionality. It’s in a great area – feels like you are really « living « in a typical neighborhood in Kyoto, yet extremely easy to get anywhere given proximity to the Tofukuji train station. House is well organized, thoughtfully set-up, and everything works. We stayed in the winter and the under floor radiant heating on the lower floor was especially nice. Good bathrooms and the main kitchen/living room area is especially welcoming and where we spent most of our time. Akiko (owner) and Jenny from the agency were extremely responsive, helping us with the luggage shipping, etc. Highly recommend !

My family enjoyed the sense of staying in an authentic Japanese home. The facilities, furnishings and neighborhood required adaptations, none of which were particularly onerous. The location is within walking distance of beautiful shrines, temples and parks. Recommended for physically active cultural explorers.

An amazing place
The house was amazing exactly as promised online. Great kitchen, has a place for laundry and when my son left his wedding ring…they found a way to send it back. Amazing location to walk to a train or 7-11 or sushi and I took many morning walks to see shrines and historic sites.

Wonderful stay in Kyoto
This home is a real gem and easily accommodated our large family. It is in a great location within walking distance of the Tofukuji station, and not far from Kyoto station either. It was a perfect home-base for our travels throughout the greater Kyoto area for the week. The owner (Akiko-san) was very supportive and accommodating too. The house is well cared for and we all enjoyed the traditional, artistic decor, and the modern conveniences. Highly recommend!

Great find in Kyoto!
We loved staying in this beautiful home. Akiko was awesome about answering any questions before we arrived. Also helping us with forwarding our luggage. Our group of 6 had plenty of room to spread out with 2 full bathrooms and a large kitchen. We also loved how close we were to the train station -5 mins. Also there are stores really close for getting beverages and snacks for your stay. The house is well decorated and a true gem. We will highly recommend Akiko and her properties.

Awesome Japanese experience with Western comforts
Our family of my husband and I and adult children stayed here for 4 nights. The prep for how to find and advance communication was excellent (including helping us with a Christmas Day dinner reservation we were struggling to make from the USA before we arrived). We loved the blend of rooms with tatami mats and western beds. The kitchen had a large table and as noted in the listing, rice maker, pot for hot water, pots, pans and dishes. We loved the tatami room with the Samari. We loved the heated toilet seat and the shower had plenty of warm water. The location is wonderful--in a neighborhood near small stores for basic groceries (7/11, Food Mart, and several others) and the subway. I had one questions re a location we were going to and received an answer right away. I highly recommend and would stay here again.

Traditional Immersion and Great Location!
The house was amazing for our size group! And the amenities were up to date and very convenient. The kids enjoyed “Jim” and having the separate eating/chilling room from the bedrooms offered great flexibility with the schedules for all the people in the group. Everything was clean and property managers were super responsive to all our needs. And one of the happy surprises of the place was the location in relation to the city overall. The JR station was really close and if you enjoy walking the streets of the city, everything is relatively close to get to! Thanks for everything!!

Beautiful base to explore Kyoto
The machiya combines the best of a charming, traditional, historic home with modern comforts and convenience. Our group included seven people (adults and three "tweens") and the home was both cozy and spacious enough for us to enjoy for a week in the cool autumn weather. Very well maintained and well furnished, in a quiet neighborhood and conveniently located near shops, restaurants, Tofukuji train station, and walking distance to several major temples. The host, Akiko, and the property managers were all very welcoming and responsive to messages. They assisted us very kindly with recommendations, restaurant reservations, and luggage transfer. The only thing we thought could be improved is that the walking directions for finding the machiya were a little hard to follow (especially at night), but we did finally make it there! A few wording changes in the instructions would address this. We would absolutely love to visit again and are already dreaming of a return to Kyoto. Many thanks! Arigato gozaimasu!

Beautiful home!
This was a lovely home to stay at. We really enjoyed the modern kitchen and dining space as a common area. It was located well with a Family Mart on the way back from the Tofukuji station. The only drawback I'd say is if you have mold sensitivities, there was a slight odor attached to our belongings after leaving the VRBO. And there were several mosquitoes around the outdoors, so bring spray. Besides that, it was a lovely home with the right balance of historic and modern.

Incredible stay in Kyoto
The house is as good as you see it from the pictures. It is beautiful and comfortable and has all the amenities you could wish for. The location is also great - we were able to walk in 20-30 minutes to all the locations we were interested in. We only used the local transportation system (for which you have a station 5 minutes away) when we traveled outside the city. Highly recommended!

Amazing Accommodation
I came for vacation with my family. The directions to the place was easy to follow and it was easy to check in, especially when we arrived fairly late. The home was very spacious and had plenty of room to accommodate 8 adults. It is conveniently located to tourist attractions and the train station. Being an old house, we had a power outage when using plenty of appliances at the same time, but the staff were quick to come & help resolve the issue. The stairs made it difficult to go up with heavier luggage and hard for older people to go up and down. It’s even more convenient when there is two bathrooms for such a large group to use, which is difficult to find in this area. The experience to stay in a updated Machiya made the overall trip amazing. I would definitely recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

Great find and gracious hosts!
The property decor is perfect. The style was both beautiful and comfortable. We travelled with young kids and were a bit worried with some of the antique pieces. However, the house was so well laid out there was no problem. The bathroom was wonderful. Kitchen great for family meal. Above all, Akiko was so incredibly help and truly made out time in Kyoto special. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Terrific place to stay in Kyoto!
This was an outstanding place! The 6 of us loved it. Spacious and very clean. 2 toilets and 2 showers. Western and tatami bedrooms. Modern kitchen. Washer/dryer. 3 minute walk from Tofukuji station (JR and Keihan) which is 1 stop from Kyoto station by JR. Also convenient to go to Nara. Convenience store and few restaurants nearby. Overall, highly recommended for an authentic experience.
