There is a big difference between rooms at the resort. The hotel is much more desirable than the lodge as all the amenities/activities are at the hotel and lodges can be a long distance away from everything. We were put in a room at the basement of lodge 7 which is closer to the mainland than it is to the hotel... The room was fine, but was relatively dark and gloomy like a basement would be. The furnishings were in need of updating and the bed was not comfortable at all. And since we were so remote, Sagamore seems to centralize all operations out of one location so there were always large trucks and vans double parked in the small lot that you had to navigate around, unlike a resort like Disney where you will never see this kind of obstruction because they will take the extra time to make it more pleasant for the customer.
Upon check in, we were basically just given keys, a bill and directions to our lodge room. Nothing about the amenities or what was included in the resort fee that you pay, so by the time we figured out what we could do, it was too late (we only stayed one night).
Overall, you could have a nice experience at Sagamore, but it will be expensive. The amenities are nice and the property is in a perfect location, but the staff was not overly helpful
