By about 815 pm the evening of the stay I hadn’t yet received check-in instructions from my host . My host hadn’t responded to a previous question through the Vrbo app so I contacted the VRBO customer service phone line about the need for checkin instructions. The Vrbo representative tried diligently, while I was on hold, to contact this host I was informed after these efforts that VRBO could refund the fees I’d pay for the stay. It’s now around 9 pm bi am upset. I ask what else will be done for me to get me a new place? I was told I’d be given a list of properties from Expedia. They would send me a link. At this point I said Isomething like - what good is a list of hotels/can look up a list of hotels. I started asking where their policy was for helping or not helping someone in my position. actually secure a place? No policy was available at that time for discussion. So now very tired I hung up, i was a very impatient person. I booked a hotel I was familiar with and paid for it. I spoke with Vrbo today and couldnt quite understand it but I think the Vrbo representative said I was supposed to have selected from one of those Expedia hotels, if available, and submit my receipt to them and they would review to See if itqualified for any reimbursement. Ive now read some of vrbos documentation of the process but dont understand how really works and what criteria would be used to determine if some compensation, reimbursement or rebooking for people in my situation should be done.
