Wow! What a treat staying at Lewes Heights was!
We arrived thinking it would be nice, but it far exceeded our expectations and was like staying in a small luxury boutique hotel. Not only beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished, but modern and uncluttered and extremely comfortable.
The house is full of thoughtful and helpful touches. From bubble bath to hair dryers, steam irons to bluetooth speakers (both wired and wireless), and the bathrooms are uber luxurious, with cavernous baths that really allow one to unwind and stretch out in. There is even a beautiful Yamaha US3 for piano lovers.
Because of the spaciousness of the house and the number of rooms, even with the large number of us staying, we felt we had plenty of space to enjoy our time together as well as our own privacy. Further lovely touches were the immaculately laundered pure cotton white sheets and the huge bath towels to wrap up in.
The kitchen had every appliance you could want, even including a Vitamix and the two reception rooms with TVs in both meant that when some of us wanted to chat, others could use the complimentary Netflix and Amazon Prime. Ultra-fast 200mb broadband was much appreciated by everyone.
It was immaculately clean when we arrived, and Alex was immediately on hand to answer any questions via WhatsApp. He also supplied a beautifully put together online guide to the surrounding area including local walks, restaurants, days out, swimming spots and info about the house. It helped us with personal recommendations and meant we could book in advance for restaurants knowing that we were getting the benefit of local knowledge!
The house itself is set in a wonderfully lush, private, and very sunny garden with extraordinary views out over Lewes. Because it is situated on a cul-de-sac, there was very little noise from cars, and we felt like we were in a very private and exclusive spot.
Lewes Heights is ideal for a reunion of friends or family, or as a special holiday or occasion. Yes, you can of course get cheaper accommodation elsewhere, but as they say, you get what you pay for. And anyway, I shudder to think what we would have paid a 5 star hotel for 6 bedrooms per night!
A fabulous property, which I heartily recommend.
