Pros:
- Janice replied promptly to questions I had leading up to our vacation.
- The house has large common areas and plenty of sleeping space. The basement was a bonus and was very popular with the kids.
- The pool is very large and clean.
- The kitchen is well-stocked. Loved having two refrigerators!
Cons:
- There were some cleanliness issues, specifically in the bathrooms. (Large accumulation of hair on the master shower drain, dirty shower walls & floors, mildew on the hall bath shower curtain, to mention a few.)
- Although the listing says nothing about cameras, there are cameras at the front and side doors and at the pool. We weren’t there to do anything wrong, but a camera at the pool felt like an invasion of our privacy. However, I didn’t find out about it until 2 days before our arrival. I feel strongly that the presence of cameras should be revealed in the property listing.
- The listing says beach towels are provided, but we only had 4 available to us. We also had only 2 hand towels, and just 1 dishrag and 2 dish towels in the kitchen.
- The pool doesn’t have shade during the day. I saw this mentioned in a previous review so we brought a pop-up canopy to use, which worked well.
- I know that hosts don’t have to allow early access, but my husband and I happened to arrive 20 minutes early and were told, “The property cannot accommodate early check in or late check out since time is required from the cleaning crew in order to prepare the property and deliver it in pristine condition to the next guest.” There was no cleaning crew there when we arrived. We unloaded our stuff onto the porch and sat there for 20 minutes. It just rubbed me the wrong way and wasn’t a great way to kick things off. I probably wouldn’t have minded as much had the property actually been in pristine condition, but it wasn’t. I’m a host also, and if my property is clean and ready to go, I let my guests in early – especially if it’s just 20 minutes.
