I booked a room and put the wrong day, my mistake. I immediately called the hotel, but because it was after three pm, check in time, they wouldn't change it to the following day, the lady told me to call Expedia.
I contacted Expedia and spoke with a person who said they couldn't refund the money without permission from the hotel. I told them I didn't want the money I wanted a room for the following day. Expedia said they would send the property an email about it and they would responded within 48 hours. I said I was traveling the next day.
The next day I called the hotel and asked if we could work something out. The lady who answered said she wasn't the manager, but if I left my number she would contact the manager and get back to me. I waited about three hours with no word.
I called back and explained I would be at the hotel around 4:30.
When I showed up I spoke with the lady at the desk, the same one I had talked to on the phone earlier. I requested they let me stay tonight since they were already paid. I asked and was told they were not sold out. The manger and told me no they would not do it, I had ro talk with Expedia.
So basically the whole time I got a run around from both sides saying the other had to fix it.
I ended up staying at a different place and plan to dispute the charge.
Mistakes happen, but refusing to work with your customer to come up with a reasonable solution is poor management.
