From initial booking through to check out Paul was an incredible host, and our stay was perfect.
The pictures do not do this house justice. The layout is fantastic and the views breath taking. We stayed as a family of 3, but even with large groups this house would have plenty of space.
The house is exceptionally well maintained. I’m a contractor by trade and the level of finish is as good as it gets.
My wife and I operate several short-term rental properties so know exactly what it takes to make a stay perfect. Everything Paul & Zee have done to set this house up is first class. The kitchen has everything you’ll ever need, blue tooth speakers built into the ceilings, blankets for the sofas and so much more. Everything is of the highest quality; no expense has been spared.
The house was (unexpectedly) stocked with some great beers and a selection of wine – all for our consumption. A beautiful welcome basket upon arrival with great snacks (champagne, smoked salmon, truffles, and the works).
I enjoyed cooking for my family and took pleasure from being able to compost our vegetable scraps etc in the composter on the side of the house and indeed feed the birds on the bird table.
My wife enjoyed relaxing on the outdoor furniture, or on the huge sofa on the second floor overlooking the breathtaking views. We all loved the Hot Tub!
The Wifi was excellent. My wife and I could work early in the morning efficiently so we could then enjoy the rest of the day.
We only used the BBQ cabin on our last night, something I now very much regret. We didn’t cook in the cabin but instead just listened to music (again Bluetooth speaker provided) and played cards alongside the fire.
We arranged a boat charter with Jenny Wren Charter. Barry the owner lives a couple of doors down from Scone Cottage and spent 2 hours taking us around the Loch and showing us lots of great sights (Sea Eagles, Seals etc). It turns our Barry proposed to his wife in Turks & Caicos Islands in the Caribbean, where we live! Small world. This reinforced our love for Scone Cottage – it was obviously meant to be.
We visited Oban, Inveraray and even got to fly some Birds of Prey in Kintail. Expect to do a lot of driving to get anywhere in this area – nothing is that close. The roads however are really maintained, and a pleasure to drive on.
We made some wonderful family memories at Scone Cottage, and are grateful for the opportunity to have been able to enjoy Paul and Zees home.
