Great getaway, tranquil, has everything
Although the hot tub wasn’t working, they gave us a small refund. Just unlucky timing for everyone I guess with the electrical board failing which I don’t blame them for. Overall, the stay was amazing. They had everything in the kitchen, living space was great, TV surprisingly had a ton of channels, tons of board games and even my favorite - mini golf. The kayaks were a nice touch and we went on that for a little while. Fireplace was top notch, tons of outdoor activity space, nice fairy lights, great BBQ and outdoor space heater. This place would be a great getaway destination for couples, small families and even having friends over for dinner. It was the perfect size. We’ll definitely come back at another time of the year. We came during thanksgiving, but summer time would be crazy nice here There’s also a winery 20 mins away which was nice. Called hounds of Erie.

Perfect - Stunning Space, Great Location!
We were impressed as soon as we stepped through the front door. Everything was impeccably clean and stocked with anything you need: towels, board games, tea/coffee, and even some snacks as a welcome gesture! We loved the space and it was a perfect size for the two of us. Of course, the hot tub was amazing. The hosts, Ricardo and Angela, were on top of their communication and we felt well cared for the whole time from booking to checkout. Thank you both for an unforgettable stay :) We will be booking again. p.s.) Make sure to visit the Port Burwell beach as it’s beautifully quiet and sandy!

Relaxing getaway
This is what a vacation rental property should be! Angela and Ricardo have really considered everything you would want. The outdoor spaces are perfectly laid out, comfortable and well appointed. The interior is spotless, modern and the kitchen is equipped with everything you could need for meal prep. The area is quiet and you are not far from many great spots along lake Erie. I would return in a heartbeat and would not hesitate to recommend!

Great weekend getaway
We booked the cottage for the long weekend and absolutely loved our stay. The place was beautiful and very serene. Perfect getaway. My friend’s dog loved running around in the backyard! Wonderful Anniversary Getaway
My husband and I stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time. It was just what we needed to unwind and reconnect. The river house is charming with everything you need and the personal touches from the hosts were appreciated. Not that we had to contact the host much but if we did have a question Ricardo was prompt and friendly. The house was so clean and cozy, the beds and bed linens were so comfortable! I need the bedding for my home lol. Enjoyed a camp fire each night at the charming campfire setup. The property is in a nice quiet area, perfect to escape city life. We enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor space. Port Burwell beach is a 5 minute drive. We loved the house so much and plan to stay again. Would be nice for a girls getaway too. Highly recommend!!

No mention of pet fee in booking.
Although there is an option to click to say you have pets, when clicked there is no mention of any pet fee. But you will get hit with one should you stay. Wouldnt be a problem if it wasnt just thrown on at the very end. Well after checkout.

The house is amazing! It’s beautiful inside and out! It is set up perfectly , You don’t have to worry about anything when you get in there! There’s not much to do around the town when it is cold, But if you’re looking for a relaxing beautiful stay, this is it!

Great getaway for families
Hosts were very accommodating - very responsive & tried to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The place was super clean and cozy, had everything you needed for the stay. The neighbourhood was very quiet, almost felt like we were the only ones there. The views from the living room and the dining tables were beautiful :) we'd definitely recommend!

Awesome Anniversary and birthday getaway
It was a very charming and relaxing place, that was professionally maintained and cleaned. What a cozy little place located right by the river and a small hill in the backyard! The owners have taken care of every little detail to make your stay comfortable and happy. It was just the perfect 2 night getaway for our anniversary and birthday! Everything was perfect, including the hot tub and the backyard bonfire! We had everything we wanted down to microwave popcorn! Thanks so much to the owners.

The best weekend stay!!
My boyfriend and I had the most lovely, cozy, fun weekend staying at The River House! The house and backyard were absolutely perfect. We also spent an afternoon at Pinecroft nearby, which I would totally recommend if you’re staying here. Overall our stay was 10/10 and we would definitely return :)

Great Getaway!
The river house was exactly as advertised. Super clean, comfy and an excellent cottage aesthetic. We brought our pup and we were so delighted to see a little basket with treats and dog bowls for her. The hosts were fantastic; and welcomed us with some little snacks and a lovely card - it was so nice to have some popcorn while we watched a movie after unwinding in the hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed, in fact there were far more items than we expected. We also loved that there was holiday decor and a little Christmas tree - it really stoked the holiday cheer. 10/10 would recommend this spot to anyone who is looking for a getaway from the city. It will be top of our list next summer as it seems like an amazing spot all year round and the outdoor spaces are very well designed.

Lovely relaxing getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed the location and amenities of this dog friendly home near Port Burwell. Well equipped kitchen for cooking. Lovely bedrooms and huge family room. Three distinct outdoor sitting areas, for eating, socializing and enjoying the firepit by the river. Canoe and kayaks and life jackets provided for those who wish to use them. We loved the hot tub and used it daily before bed. Super clean home, lovely and quiet area. Great hosts. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely time away
The River House was exactly as it appears and described! So many beautiful places to sit outdoors and relax! Backs onto a little river that you can kayak down. The cottage is cute and well appointed. They provide every kitchen tool you could imagine and also a lot of amenities. The only reason for reduced stars on neighbourhood is for the loud motorcycles in the neighborhood. Very annoying in an area that is so quiet and peaceful. But you can’t pick your neighbours 😊 We really enjoyed the time away and our hosts were wonderful.

As Advertised
The location was easy to find, the place was clean and modern with all the amenities you could ask for. It is a short 6 min drive to the beach (one of the best Dog beaches) and they provide you with a pass to the Prov. Park so that was very convenient. If you are looking for a great beach near by and a peaceful stay, this is a great place.

Beautiful property near Port Burwell
This property looks exactly as pictures posted on line. The backyard has a firepit, pergola, deck and hot tub and is situated on a small river. The home is well equipped with dishware, utensils, towels, coffee, condiments and even board games. The host Ricardo is very attentive and responds to any questions right away. The home is a few miles from Port Burwell so a vehicle is necessary to get a round. The only issue we had was the bedrooms were quite small and could use closets or a storage area. But otherwise it had everything you could want and was very relaxing. I definitely recommend The River House!

Six stars!
This was an exceptional stay from start to finish. Communication from both hosts was excellent; check in and out was seamless; the home was extremely clean, well organized, and contained everything you could possibly imagine for a 1-7 day stay; the location was easy to find and within a 20 minute drive to all necessities; and the hosts even set out a portable play pen for our child and had a plethora of board/card games to entertain all ages. This was the definition of a five star experience - and considering that it rained all three days and nights we stayed, that says a lot! Well done, Angela and Ricardo! We’ll most likely be back in the future 😬👍🏻

Perfect escape!
A nice, cute, and relaxing stay. Great for winter as well as we had two snow storms while there! Easy to access, everything you could need - supplies for kitchen, bathroom, laundry, cleaning etc. Nice touches like coffee, cooking essentials, makeup pads, feminine products... a little welcome package with snacks and treats for fireplace or a movie curled up by the fireplace. Brought my dog - even she had her own doggy towel and doggy bowls - as well as a little welcome packet of doggy cookies! So cute!
