Absolute dream home BUT with an antique stove
The house itself is as described and visible in the many photos: very nicely designed (everything matches the colour scheme). The house has plenty of space, the beds are comfortable, the terrace is nice to sit on, the kitchen has all the utensils and enough dishes and cutlery for a family. The air conditioning and Wi-Fi work well. There is a children's play table with billiards etc. which we enjoyed using. The neighbourhood is great, everything is easily accessible by car, shops are close by. BUT we didn't have a nice arrival, because it smelled of gas, we heard a hissing noise from the stove and the griddle was warm (without a visible flame). The stove is an antique gas cooker from 1940 which, unlike modern gas stoves permanently emits gas, it is in continuous operation. Its handling was not explained anywhere, it was not visible in the pictures. When we contacted the managers on the first evening about the smell of gas with the words "it's an emergency", we were answered by several people, but were told "it's an old stove and normal". It was only when a friend of the manager came by after 2 hrs, explained the special features and brought an additional carbon monoxide detector with him that we were somewhat reassured. The stove might be a no-go for some people who don't have a gas cooker at home (we have one). The accommodation is otherwise really beautiful. The only reason we cannot give 5 stars is because of the stove.
