This was a perfect location for our high school team cross country retreat. Plenty of room for our large group of 45. The gathering area in the lodge provided ample tables and chairs for eating and sofas for relaxing. The large kitchen was well stocked and nicely updated. The large capacity refrigerator and freezer offered plenty of space for our food for the week. The outdoor amenities included pickle ball, basketball, a playground set, huge Blackstone for cooking, a smoker, and newly planted grass. The location was near enough to many beautiful running trails for our kids to get some high altitude training and was a lot of fun for the kids as they bonded during summer workouts and runs.
The downsides were few but there were some. The AC had not been installed in time for our stay and it was a sweltering 85+ degrees in the lodge and cabins for much of the week. The property is also located across from a small airport and there were planes coming and going at random times throughout the day and night, with a rotating green light that would shine into the bedrooms in the main building. Blinds and windows had to stay open due to the lack of AC so the light would get very annoying. The neighbors also have a dog that likes to bark in the early morning hours, and with windows open, that got annoying as well. The stove took quite a bit of time to boil water, but that is to be expected at such high altitude, just something to be aware of.
All in all, this was a wonderful place
