We arrived late and because the hotel shares parking with 3 bars it took some effort to find parking. We had to check in at the bar (they let us know ahead of time). The hotel is fairly old and gorgeous. Our room had a little balcony overlooking a courtyard. We could hear all the bar noises but it wasn't bothersome at all. Everything about the room was nice. The only negative was the bathroom door didn't want to latch. They gave us a voucher for breakfast at one of the bars 2 doors down and it was excellent. The bar we checked in at also gave us drink vouchers.
This is a cozy hidden gem nice antique furnishings friendly staff great breakfast and even a free drink. Right off the capitol square good free parking.
My husband and I stayed for one night because we were in town for a concert and the location worked really well. Because the reviews were so good, we took a chance on this hotel. We were very underwhelmed. Itâs openly funky and different so we were prepared for that. We were also aware it was above a bar and went in eyes wide open. But our room was not as clean weâd hoped and the furniture was what Iâd describe as âthrift store finds.â There were visible dirty spots on the furniture and carpeting. The lobby smelled pretty terrible - like years of food being fried downstairs - and the room had a musty smell. It wasnât the worst place weâve stayed but we wonât stay again.
Pros:
The location is great
Parking included
Breakfast included
Drink tickets
Cons:
Meh cleanliness
Weird smells
Rickety furniture
Noisy
