Great place on the canal!
I’ll start out by saying that we have a property of similar value that we rent on VRBO. (It’s on Lake Morey in VT.) We have almost 50 reviews and a 5.0 rating, so we have high standards and a very close comparison to use here. My wife and I stayed here with our 12 and 14 year old sons for the week of Thanksgiving. The house really couldn’t have been better. Everything was very clean when we walked in. Everything is very well thought out and organized; everything feels like it’s where it should be. It was very obvious throughout our stay that the owners put a lot of time and thought into setting this house up perfectly for VRBO guests. The kitchen was very well stocked and had every cooking dish, utensil, etc. that we could have asked for. We always make it a point to leave our VRBO house well stocked with all of the basics such as toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, dish washer and laundry soap; kitchen items like bags, foil, coffee filters, etc. This house had all of those things and then some; it doesn’t cost much to provide those items but it really adds a ton of convenience factor for guests. We had an extra bedroom that we never used, so we could have very comfortably had 6 people here. The house is right on the canal and is conveniently located close to everything, while also being on a quiet, low traffic street. The pool and hot tub were a great size and fit for us, and the outdoor cooking and dining area was perfect. The grill was clean and ready to use; I hate it when I stay at a VRBO and the grill looks like it hasn’t been cleaned out for two years. Nobody minds scraping down the cooking surface but the rest should be kept relatively clean; this grill was great. There is a tablet on the counter that the property management company leaves that has info on it and such. The one improvement I would suggest would be to make the WiFi instructions available. The tablet has a section for that but it wasn’t filled in; I was never able to figure out how to connect to the WiFi the whole time I was there. At our VRBO we put this info in the guest info binder, and my wife has a cute little thing that sticks to the refrigerator that also shows the WiFi instructions. I really can’t think of one single improvement other than that. To anyone considering renting soon, don’t forget there was just a hurricane; people are working to get things fixed as quickly as possible and there will be some related noise.
