My wife and I spent 8 days at the resort in March 2018 and had a wonderful time. The Capella Resort is a beautiful property overlooking Marigot Bay and the resort-managed marina. The Capella staff was welcoming and responsive, and tended to all of our requests. Javid, the owner, is very responsive and provided an excellent summary of how to best enjoy your stay and explore St. Lucia. All in all, the apartment is very spacious and provides privacy to a family or two couples. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the morning for coffee, or in the evening for a glass of wine, overlooking the pool, the bay, and the vessels in the marina. We found the setting unique, in that we normally stay on the beach in the Caribbean. The apartment was very comfortable and clean, and the housekeeping provided some of the best service that we have experienced. One important point, the resort does an outstanding job of controlling mosquitoes and pests; we were bug free during our time in the resort. We experienced all of the four restaurants at the resort. We enjoyed several dinners at the Rum Cave, breakfast and drinks at sunset at the Hurricane Hole. The food for lunch at the Pool Bar was very good. We found the Grill Room to be a nice setting, but was more expensive and less satisfying than the other three. Overall, meals at the resort and the island were expensive, but comparable to other high-end Caribbean destinations. Close to the resort, we tried Chateau Mygo which was good for breakfast and pizza take out. We really enjoyed Julietta’s, which overlooks the bay from the top of the hill. Our favorite restaurants were outside of the resort, The Coal Pot and the Pink Plantation, which have the same owner. Both are located in beautiful and picturesque settings, with similar menus. We arranged several private tours independent of the resort, a boat tour to the Pitons and various beaches and a sunset sail, and a tour of the Volcano and Botanical Gardens. There is a small beach across the bay, but while at Marigot Bay, we opted for the resort pool, which is marvelous, tranquil, and with a swim-up bar. We had a rental car delivered to the hotel, and would recommend using transportation on arrival. We found the beaches at Pidgeon Island/Rodney Bay to be the nicest. One of our favorite things about St. Lucia were the people, as the hotel staff, locals and fellow guests were all very friendly. A very peaceful and interesting place.
