We had a great family trip at Elk Haus! The home had every detail taken care of! Game table, pool table, coffee, a fully stocked kitchen, a great hot tub, rocking chairs, a huge family dinner table , great views. What more could you ask for!?

Elk Haus is just wonderful!
The cabin and location was perfect! The cabin was perfectly appointed and loved by all 5 of us! My husband loved the pool table. The owner, Dan, was great to work with as we had a pesky smoke detector chirping. The maintenance staff replaced all of the detectors and were very nice! The furniture was comfortable and the decks were wonderful overlooking the mountains. We enjoyed taking our dogs and they enjoyed the outdoor space there as well. I highly recommend this cabin and plan to return to the Gorman cabin!

Elk Haus
We had a great stay in the Elk Haus Cozy Cabin. The house was clean and well equipped for a family with children. My boys enjoyed the basement, which included a game table, pool table and great bunk bed room. We played board games upstairs together at the large dining table. Cooking was easy in the nicely stocked kitchen. Neighbors were friendly and there were plenty of places to walk the dog/explore. Hosts were friendly and responsive. We would certainly visit again!

Wonderful trip! Beautiful house and views!
We had a great time at this beautiful house! Plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 kids. Kids loved the bunk beds and games in lower level! We all had fun enjoying pool table and hot tub! Everything was very clean and comfortable. We cooked several meals a day at the house. Kitchen had everything we needed. When we had any question or trouble finding the house, the owner was quick to reapond and very helpful! We would love to return one day!

Views for miles!!
Beautiful home HIGH atop the mountain. Home was exactly as described and had everything we needed for our stay. The 3 king sized beds/bedrooms was perfect for our group. Kitchen had all needed items to make meals. The downstairs pool table was fun and even though we didn't use it, the spa was hot and looked very clean. Recommend to anyone wanted to have a very peaceful getaway. Word to the wise, have a vehicle with good tires and plenty of engine horsepower as the road to get to the home is steeply pitched and can be a bit nerve racking when wet. We loved our stay here and would return.

Beautiful Cabin!!
Elk Haus is a fantastic cabin! The view is stunning! Every bedroom is adorable and so much space!! Five adults had plenty of room. The kitchen had spices and amenities (games, puzzles) and plenty of supplies. We reached out to owner and he responded immediately and very helpful. We will definitely stay at Elk Haus again. Pool table downstairs provided lots of fun. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks for a fantastic week!

We'll Be Back
The Gorman family and the Elk Haus provided! Walking in, the decoration and coziness right away made it feel a home away from home! The Gorman family was very quick to respond and set us up to make sure the home included everything we could want and need! To kitchen appliances for cooking those yummy meals, to games, to blankets, to of course the hot tub! I can't wait to come back and enjoy the Elk Haus again!

I stayed at the cabin for 5 days with family, a total of 9 people include a 1 year old, 2 years old and 2 dogs. Everyone was very comfortable, did not feel cramped at all. The wooden cottage was very nice. It’s at the top of the mountain, very quiet in a community of cottages , an old ski resort currently abandoned , but very nice views! We enjoyed it immensely!

Fabulous property!
The house itself is amazing, extremely clean, the layout is great with lots of space so even with 8 people (4 adults 4 kids) we never felt cramped. Decks, two bbqs, hot tub, all new appliances with extras (air fryer) in kitchen cupboard. Beds and furnishings super. Games room was a great hangout, pool table was great quality and electronic arcade game, large tv made it easy to spend time inside if the weather was bad. There were also a lot of items for use already in the house on arrival (coffee, trash bags, dishwasher tablets, laundry pods, washing liquid) so you won’t need to rush out for every little thing. The owners are super responsive and when we informed that a bbq gas bottle was empty, it was replaced within 2 hours. If you want a getaway in the mountains, you will love this place.

The Elk Haus
We’re on our way home from a 5-day stay at The Elk Haus and we already miss it!! It’s a beautiful cabin on the mountain with an extraordinary view without being too far from all of the fun stuff like whitewater rafting, the town of Asheville, hiking, the hot springs, etc. As far as the cabin, it’s deceiving how big it actually is inside. I lost count on how many bathrooms there were. Not that I make it a habit to walk into other peoples houses and count bathrooms or anything. That would be weird. There were just two of us but there was plenty of room to bring about 8 more of our closest friends. The rooms were big and really comfortable. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with everything you likely forgot like spices or coffee. And the hot tub was situated overlooking the mountain which made it really nice. As an added bonus, I forgot to log out of my Netflix account so if you get there soon enough you’ll get free TV too!!! I don’t have any pictures inside the cabin but this was a great shot of the sunset from our temporary backyard!!!

The cabin was very nice. Wonderful game room down stairs, the hot tub was amazing! The cabin was clean sheets clean. There was a layer of dust on some easily accessible spots, over all nothing to complain about. The main road coming into the cabin was shut down caused some momentary panic! It is indeed a steep climb to the top. Very nice stay, would recommend

Great home and experience
The entire experience was great and this home is a gem. Cozy cottage like feel with spectacular views yet plenty of space and beds for the 6 of us who were there. Loved the decor and feel and the care the hosts have clearly put into it. Very nice hot tub. Kitchen had everything we needed. The basement area was great with another tv and pool table in addition to the bunks. Communication from hosts was fast, thorough, and caring. Great stay in all ways!
