Hosts had properties in the Hotel which was unusual, but they were offering a slightly better rate; big mistake. We get a call a few hours after checking in stating we needed to meet them to pay them. Wasn't disclosed and is sketchy. The person was put out trying to coordinate a time to meet. During our stay they wanted maintenance to do some work & were upset when we told them we didn’t want them accessing our room while we were out.
Room was filthy. Most walls had damage. Floors hadn't been cleaned, we found food under the dresser. The dishware looked unwashed.
Every amenity was misrepresented. Laundry had no soap as stated in the listing (we left what we bought behind), dryer full of sand, internet was nonexistent & wasn’t free; it wants you to download an app that ties to your paid account. Ironing board legs had been sawed through. The advertised balcony (now removed) is barely large enough for a single chair. The door does not lock or seal, so your room fills with the smell of smoke from the other balconies.
The cleaning crew pounded on our door demanding that we leave & should have checked out. Argued for 10 minutes, at which point they realized they had the wrong room, no apology. An hour later, the person we met a few days earlier, comes looking for payment. Also argued with us that we should be someone else, and then realized she had the wrong room. We sent a summary of our issues and their response that told us we were wrong about everything and to shove it.
