Unfortunately the hotel messed up our booking. We booked one of the cottages on site, but ended up in the main hotel. They explained it was due to maintenance but in the morning while having a coffee outside we saw other visitors coming out of the cottages - they’d simply double booked and tried to cover up. We have two young children who we then had to all share a room together - hence why we’d booked the cottage with separate rooms - which was not ideal. The hotel did compensate our stay, and in general is a really lovely place but it left a sour taste.

It was just nice

Cons: The service could be improved.
Location: Woburn safari. The local pubs and tea rooms are delightful.
The hotel definitely benefits from its location a few minutes away from the Safari and facing a quaint and peaceful town. However, for the price I paid for the night, the value received did not match. It was a nice hotel and we had a nice room, but beyond 'nice' I find myself stuck for words.

overnight stay

Lovely hotel, good food but we had chosen this venue to stay the night after a wedding, couldn't fault it until we tried to sleep, most uncomfortable bed ever, in a hotel of this quality simply unacceptable, didn't sleep all night both of us got up around 6.30 as it was better to get up than suffer any longer. upon leaving the hotel i did mention this to the staff member that I was paying, giving the example of springs protruding from the matress and whilst he was apologetic for the experience his only comments were 'we ae trying to get protectors for them' so i'm guessing i wasn't the only one mentioning it! He concluded with 'we hope to see you again' unfortunately you won't as i actually would like to get some sleep so there won't be a next time. this is regretable for what is otherwise a nice hotel.
