A few thoughts
• We’ll start with the good things
o This is a beautiful “cabin”, and it sits in a beautiful location
o It was very clean
o There was a well-stocked kitchen and pantry
o There were lots of games to play, a pool table, air hockey and foosball tables – all in good working order.
o There’s a lovely firepit with plenty of wood provided
• Now for the less appealing portions
o There are too many beds stuffed into fairly small rooms – can it sleep 20 people? Maybe, but they’d better be good friends and not need personal space!
o ALL the closets and dressers were completely full with, presumably, the owner’s clothes (even underwear and socks – eww!) leaving no room for a guest to unpack.
o There was a prescription medication in one of the kitchen cabinets – this particular medication is now a controlled substance!
o There is a liquor cabinet that is unsecured. It would be so easy for the wrong hands to get hold of this, as well!
o There was also a smelly porta-potty at the foot of the entryway stairs with a sign for “Guests – please be sweet and use this seat.” We used the facilities in the house!
While we enjoyed our stay in this location, it definitely gave the vibe of “You don’t live here so don’t get comfortable.” It felt very much like we were intruding on someone else’s home.
I really wanted to give a stellar review of this home – it really is a beautiful, luxurious cabin…but there were just a few glaring issues. Would I go there again? No, probably
