I stayed at Swede Hill Suite solo while I was visiting my son at UI. This home is a bright and clean duplex located in a safe and quiet neighborhood just up from the main town of Moscow and UI. I appreciated all the care the owner took to make the home inviting - from fresh paint, to comfortable bedding, and a real effort to make the home clean. The owner is very accessible and answers any questions you may have in a timely manner. The house is only a 3 minute (or less) drive to the grocery store and restaurants. Walkable in nice weather.
Two improvements I would recommend to make this home even better for guests. Number one, add a shade to the kitchen window. When it’s dark outside and you turn on the light you feel a little like a goldfish in a bowl with people looking in. Second, I know some owners feel it is the responsibility of the guest to strip the bedding at the end of the stay, I don’t think this is a good practice. Taking out the trash, clearing the fridge, putting dishes in the dishwasher and starting it, taking care of wet towels, all of these things make perfect sense because they can cause issues including welcoming bugs/rodents if not taken care of promptly. Striping the bedding should be something that the guest is paying for. As someone with a bad shoulder, removing bedding was something I found to be more than I bargained for. Just my thoughts.
These items are minor. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend this home to others.
