The furnishings and overall experience is more of a youth hostel than a nice apartment rental.
Many upgrades are needed, plus a deep cleaning and fresh paint.
For example, bath towels were small and thin. Bed pillows had no support as they were simply bags of shredded filler material. Beds were thin futon-type mattresses on a hard box structure, not at all as represented in the photos. Shower head barely spits out water and needs to be replaced. Although a non smoking apartment, we detected scents of past smoking. Furniture is worn and needs replacement. I could go on, but you get the point.
This rental was a huge disappointment. It’s operated by a corporate rental company, so perhaps they are putting profits before quality, I can only hypothesize.
I had several exchanges with the rental firm and although they were quick to respond, I did not find them very helpful or particularly friendly.
The location is indeed convenient to old town Munich in what I’d describe as a ‘transitional’ area. (Meaning not too nice now, but could be after a few years of investment).
This is a convenient place for low budget travelers of 2-4 people. It’s just too small to support more than that.
