We loved staying at this great old style property in a fantastic location. Perfect for a family holiday. We felt like we were staying at the home of friends or family as it was so cosy and well equipped with all the little things you find in a home but not necessarily a rental. Not fancy but fantastic.
Only a few minor issues:
- linen was provided and the listing said beds wouldn’t be made, which was fine, but when we went to make the beds there was not enough, or rather not correct, linen to make them (eg a lot of doona covers but no double sheets for the 2 double beds, and no fitted sheets), and no towels at all. Because we checked in on an afternoon of a public holiday this made fixing the problem a bit tricky though we eventually got onto someone at the agency who dropped some linen around.
- the garden is huge and lovely but there is a large mound of dry cuttings, branches, etc in the back corner which is home to at least a huge lizard or possibly a snake, though I’m hoping the former. Tidying it up (and fixing the broken fence palings) would make it safer for kids and dogs
- you might want to mention in the listing that there is no driveway to save confusion in parking
- the house is far better equipped than the listing says! You should update it! (Eg the listing says there are no kitchen or bathroom consumables provided but there was in fact soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and a wonderfully stocked kitchen). It’s selling the house short :)
