We had to vacate the property almost immediately upon arrival. We thought we arrived at the wrong location and even our Uber driver was nervous to leave us at the location. It was obvious that illegal transactions were happening in the parking lot, but we decided to go in to see if maybe things would look better from the inside. As soon as we opened the door it smelled like raw sewage inside. We went around the windows to see if maybe it just needed to be aired out, but realized the windows did not open because it was a commercial space! The main living area was actually a large glass door/entry way that you would find at a retail location and opened to a sidewalk right outside of the door! The view across the street, less than a stone's throw, is a bail bonds establishment and a liquor store, to give you a better idea of the location. The main living area was also missing the smoke detector (it appeared to have been removed at some point). I wrote to VRBO and the property manager, as we were not able to stay due to the permeating smell that was making everyone sick, including one person who has a high risk medical condition, so we had to leave. Neither VRBO or the property manager made any attempt to assist us with a relocation, as the terms of policy for this property and VRBO provide, so we had to scramble to find our own accomodations, which of course came at a much higher price.
This was a truly disappointing, unacceptable experience, to say the least.
