Dickens wrote ‘It was the best of times, it was the worst of times’. Storm Fiona hit Black Point hard and yet we had a most memorable holiday; in fact we extended our stay by five days. In the face of adversity, the people of Nova Scotia opened up their hearts and helped each other in every possible way. We were privileged to be a part of all that went on.
In spite of Fiona, clearly Black Point is a wonderful place to spend a quiet, relaxing holiday. The cottage kitchen is equipped with every utensil known to man, and there is plenty of room for lying around reading, playing games, or simply sitting and looking out to sea. A perfect place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. The host and property managers were really attentive and thoughtful, fresh flowers on the dining table, freshly baked muffins and scones…. What more could you need!
Black Point has a very interesting history, some cottages are 100-plus years old and remain family owned. It is a close, caring community, and we met some very friendly and interesting people. It is also perfectly positioned to explore Nova Scotia, East, West or South. We will be recommending this property to friends and family as a perfect get-away.
