Hotel and room was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Very convenient to Times Square and theatre district. Great value. There is a nice bar area, but not sure if it's being used - would be nice.

Cozy old hotel

Very charming old hotel near Times square, walking distance from everything. Very clean, very cozy. Helpful staff. We had a nice time. Will be back again.

We absolutely loved our stay! The location was perfect. The staff was great - very friendly and helpful. Our room and all the shared areas were spotless. We'll definitely be back!

This was a great stay except for the fact that the walls are less than paper thin. I could hear people talking up flights of stairs with my tv on and door shut

I loved the location and its proximity to the places we wanted to visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Old building and elevators but it gave it a personality. Definitely revisiting it!

loved how easy it was to get to. got the job done - it was a room with 2 beds. facilities are a bit old, water pressure in the shower was terrible. our radiator was being fixed as we entered (it was plenty warm). no issues with the stay itself and would return if needed.

The hotel is in a great location, but it’s not ideal for strollers or wheelchairs as it lacks a ramp. There are two elevators—one is very small, and the other takes a long time to reach your floor. Aside from that, it’s an okay hotel

This was my first trip to New York and Hotel St. James added a little historical charm to my stay. It was nice and quiet and hardly noticed any other guests and the room was nice and toasty after spending the day outdoors walking Times Square.

A GREAT hotel at a bargain price. Clean, quiet and comfortable. An historic vibe with lots of dark wood and brass. No frills and very few “amenities” but who cares? Very pleasant staff. A fabulous theatre district location with a great deli next door for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. Carry out or eat upstairs. Definitely staying at Hotel St James on our next visit.
