We chose this location as a base to explore the southwestern area of England. When we arrived, there was a little confusion over the location of the key but it was immediately rectified. The location was quiet and peaceful. The owners are close by and very responsive. Caution to those on the taller side due to the pitch of the roof upstairs. It was even tighter in the shower. But donât let this keep you from enjoying this lovely property. Thanks to the owners for providing a few basic provisions. After hours of travel and a good nightâs sleep in very comfortable beds, it certainly was helpful in getting us moving the first morning. You simply cannot go wrong selecting this property.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Highclere, at the Hawk's Barn. It was a wonderful spot for our day trips to Oxford, Stonehenge and the Cotswolds. Beds were extremely comfortable and perfect for our family of four, with the kids seperate two, twin room. Would absolutely recommended this to anyone looking for a place to stay and we extend our thanks to Max and his wife and family for being exceptional hosts.
Had a lovely 4 night stay at Hawks Barn. It is a real home from home and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Awesome location for visiting the many sights the area has to offer, would have loved to have stayed longer.
Beautiful little property in a lovely setting with everything you could need and more. Hosts were super friendly and available should we have needed anything. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we were wanting to stay in the area.
Great communication with Max. Amber and Max were very helpful but mindful of our space, considering the proximity to their home. Excellent living space and location for walks. Personally recommend Malverleys Farm and Dining for a walk and coffee and cakes. Newly opened in June 23 - lunch/ dinner menu looks appetising too.
1 potential concern about the property, depending on who you're sharing with, the main bedroom is at the top of the stairs with access to the bathroom. The twin room is off the main room with a door - the main bedroom doesn't have a door so the people from the twin room can view you in bed. Again, something that needs to be highlighted the property details,in my opinion, and only an issue for some people.
I would recommend this accommodation based on the correct configuration of your party.
Hawks Barn in beautiful Highclere was everything we thought it would be. Comfy beds, stunning decor, clean, well stocked kitchen and fridge for a full breakfast and green country views from every window. We did have an issue with the hot water however the problem was promptly rectified.
