This too expensive property should not be listed as a place to stay
There were cement blocks to walk down to get to the access door with no hand railâŠvery dangerous. It was cold. I was not aware that to go to the toilet I had to walk up a steep back stairs. There was no soap. Is that usual? I was very tired and went to bed very early. I feel asleep but because there is a water heater in the room which makes a very loud ticking noise I was awaken and couldnât get back to sleep. After 3 house of being awake, I left at 2 in the morning with 2 hours of sleep and having to drive 3 1/2 hours home. Not choice. Plus there was an outside light that kept coming on which besides the various lights in the room made it too light. I didnât even need to turn lights on the get dressed to leave.
This is advertised as a private bedroom but it is the basement of the house with a sheet on a clothesline closing off a piece of it with a bed in it. Very steep stairs up to bathroom would be very difficult to maneuver in the middle of the night!! I want my money back. Door was unlocked when I got there with lights on and a battobe and other clothing hanging in the corner like someone was there. I didn't stay. I got scared
This place has real privacy, and the bed is super comfortable. Our host was really helpful, and even recommended things we could do in the area. Had a wonderful time.
Stayed here while working a job nearby. With short notice, I booked the cheapest place around, worrying if I should have payed extra for a hotel. It was worth it. Convenient location, better and cheaper than a hotel, and avoided lots of traffic on the way into work. I would stay here again if I ever work in Cape Cod again.
I enjoyed staying at Joy's place. She is a lovely host and very attentive. Space is adequate. One room in basement with private bathroom at top of stairs. About a 20 minute drive to Falmouth Heights.
I hope to stay again next year. Many
thanks.
Great location, for a home base while vacationing on the Cape. The host provided great recommendations and tips on the best places foe drinks, meals and little gettaways to Marthas Vineyard.
The fact that the bedroom was in the basement area so my 97 year old husband and myself 84 years old had to climb up a set of stairs every time we wanted to use the bathroom. I think the hostess, who was very kind, realized how poorly suited the accomadations were for us, She let us use her main entrance to get into the house, otherwise we would have had to go around to the back yard to access entrance to the basement.
We stayed at Joyâs while visiting family close by. We enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood, the charming green backyard, and above all Joyâs hospitality. Very comfortable bed in a spacious bedroom and a well equipped bathroom.
