A beautiful, incredibly well stocked house in peaceful, beautiful surroundings.
My partner and I stayed for a week. We were without a car, and the owner was kind enough to provide bikes for us. The property is in a quiet part of Tobermory, so there isn't that much to do within walking distance, but with a bike or a car, we were within easy distance of some beautiful beaches, the Grotto, and the main Tobermory center with its tour ships, shops, ferry, etc.
Once we had access to a car again, we rented kayak/canoes/paddleboards on a nearby (~15 min drive) resort. We also visited Singing Sands Beach, which is stunningly beautiful and very well maintained. We also biked to the Tobermory center and to Dunks Bay.
The two water access points within walking distance (the one at Cape Hurd Rd and Sunset Park) have some lovely, peaceful views during the day, but require water shoes if you're planning to go in and get a bit buggy towards the late afternoon.
However, since I'm assuming the vast majority of people staying in Tobermory *will* have a car, it's an absolutely lovely place to stay. Astonishingly well stocked kitchen (I usually bring my own cast iron pan to cottages for cooking, but they already had one!), as well as plenty of entertainment options (books, games, puzzles, movies, etc). The owners have been incredibly thoughtful in equipping this place to be a true getaway.
