The FIRST THING you may want to know about this stay, is that we had a BEAR visitor, early Tuesday morning. Came directly up the stairs onto the deck while my husband was outside with his morning coffee?! So just be aware, they are nearby!
Other than this scary moment, this stay was such a delight. The location is fabulous with easy access both to the town and to the nature trails. The view out the window is gorgeous and you can hear the river from the front porch.
The kitchen is well stocked and we ate mosts of our meals in. (If you plan to cook a lot, I'd bring some ziplocks, saran wrap, foil, tupperware, these items I wish I'd had.)
Our daughter loved the upstairs to herself (but found the bedroom a little hot and slept on the couch up there where you can open the windows.) It is small but quaint and adorable and just the right size for our group of 3.
Also wanted to mention, we thought of bringing our dog, but I'm glad we didn't, (in our case, only because, I assumed there would be hardwoods or tile, but there was carpet.) But it was an incredibly dog-friendly town all the way around. We enjoyed the hiking, the train, the day trips, and the in-town shopping/food, the springs... we'd definitely return.
