Loved the location of this property so close to Lake Jessup. Beautiful old growth-old Florida feel. That said, the house was disappointing. While it has potential - it was light and bright with lots of windows for the size of the house - virtually everything was old and dirty and worn. The floors were literally filthy. I swept them twice and got tons of old dog hair, dust and grit. Then I mopped them, but could have mopped several more times to get them really clean. To be fair, the street and driveway are unpaved, so it’s almost impossible not to track in black grit. Still, regular sweeping and mopping would go a long way. The beds were clean and relatively comfortable. The amenities were scarce; one full roll of toilet paper for a 15-day stay. Bath towels were provided but no rug or bath mat. The medicine cabinet had a broken shelf which my husband fixed. The toilet seat was loose but the owners did send a handyman to fix it. He would also have fixed the medicine cabinet, but our question is why wasn’t everything checked between tenants? The kitchen looked clean but we cleaned all the surfaces anyway. The house has a full kitchen, but the electric stove has loose burners. There is no dishwasher; not a complaint, just an observation. The washer and dryer worked fine but the laundry room was dirty. The plastic shelves would have had to be cleaned before any laundry could be placed on them. Bottom line, the house could be great but owners don’t seem to care.
