Overall, loved our stay. Check-in was easy; Kekela reached out the day of check-in to make sure we were arriving safely, as we were checking in during the evening time driving from Kona. The home was comfortable and the communal area was open and spacious. We had so many seating options between the 4 of us: bar-height counter seating, dining table, couch with a tv, patio table with bench where we enjoyed some food we made in the fully equipped kitchen plus the outdoor grill, and an outdoor loveseat. We wanted to do laundry but there wasn’t any ready detergent left for us, and it wasn’t on our minds when we went grocery shopping. The upstairs has a balcony that you can see the ocean from, however it’s even better just walking a few minutes down the street to catch a better view of the sunrise and ocean. I enjoyed the upstairs loft with the a/c so my nights were more comfortable than my friends downstairs who preferred to sleep with their doors/windows shut and had more humid slumbers and wished they had an a/c of their own. Expect to see bugs/spiders, little tiny geckos(?). We did our best to keep the windows and doors shut to keep any unwanted guests out, also keeping the areas clean of food and sanitizing. Nature is loud but it became white noise and it’s amazing how alive the night time can sound. From hearing the waves and the raindrops falling on the palms trees, it was a beautiful vacation home away from the crowd/tourists.
