The condo was not as clean as other VRBOs we’ve rented, and the furniture was dated and worn. Very little is provided in terms of basic necessities like a skillet, pot scrubber, toilet paper, beach towels, soap, detergent, and the like. In fact, when departing we asked the cleaning crew what they do with unused toilet paper or anything else left behind that the next occupants could use and they said they remove all of it. The worst aspect of this rental was the service. The clothes dryer stopped working mid week. We called and emailed Amber as instructed. She never responded. Instead a handyman appeared the next day with no notice, merely confirmed it wasn’t working, and said someone would be by the next day. No one ever showed, nor were our voice messages or emails replied to by Amber. It wasn’t fixed, so we had to dry our clothes on the backs of chairs on the balcony. We packed light knowing we had a washer and dryer, so we were in a bind having to air dry clothes. With all the other VRBOs we’ve ever rented the management or owners went out of their way to make sure everything was as advertised. Not with this unit. For the hefty price we paid you’d expect far more service than what we experienced. The owner is a retired Boeing executive. I hope she changes the management of her condo rental, updates it’s interior, and provides more basics than what she currently does. I should add that the management of the unit, including the written instructions for its use and the rules, are somewhat condescending and unfriendly, like they are used to renting to kids or something. I do not recommend this unit.
