We have used VRBO and similar services on a number of occasions and typically have a very nice experience. Unfortunately we can not say that this time. It started when I asked to clarify when the 2nd payment would be charged to us, considering there wasnt any clarity as to how that would get paid, just a date when it's "Due". My email to the owner was met with a very short and not helpful reply, as well as both the up front and the 2nd payment neither matching the amount quoted. Then we arrive to the property, which is up a tall flight of stairs outdoors, as well as the bedroom being up yet another flight of stairs. The kitchen isnt even big enough for a 2nd person to stand in it at the same time. We needed to have use of our bathtub, yet the stopper did not function properly so it was useless. We email the property owner about that, as well as requesting just a SECOND keycard (which is required to enter or leave any of the pools, and would be incredibly helpful to have an extra). We only asked for ONE additional keycard. We were met with an incredibly short/rude reply with zero solution to either of our requests. We then spent the rest of our trip wondering what to do about either. Rosemary Beach is a beautiful place, and we absolutely LOVE 30A, but we will now attempt to interact with owners more before booking our next property, if we can't rely on VRBO to uphold even a decent experience between the owner and customer.
