We've VBRO'd in great places before. This place was outstanding.
As a home: I'm trying to find the right way to describe the perfect balance of this place. Spotless without being soulless. Decent knives to cook with, nice plates and cups, great towels, comfy beds and blankets. Homey amenities like a picnic basket and board games. But not cluttered or kitschy.
The rooms are exactly as pictured. It's not a big place inside, but the screened in porch was great.
Really the only thing that was a bummer about our stay is that we had to work "remotely" every day (great wifi!) and really didn't get to explore the area much. But we had time to sample what a long summer there could be each day - with a quick morning kayak with the fog lifting off the lake, a mini-break in the afternoon to read a book on the porch during a rainy afternoon, a jump in the lake when wrapping up work for the day, a stroll down the road at sunset where each neighbor waves hello.
Our first time in the ADK and a welcome break from the dry-ness of Northern California, we feel more than a little restored from our week there.
Thank you, Angela, you were very helpful with helping us find a place to park the boat we were towing (Schroon Lake Marina - Craig, nice guy!)
