This was the perfect spot for my family (me/husband/teen daughter + my father/stepmother) for our annual fall break meet-up. There were so many great spaces to gather - 3 different indoor couch/chair spaces, a couple of different outdoor spots, plus a nice, large dining room table. The kitchen had plenty of room too. The decor was lovely/cozy and the furniture was really comfortable.
My husband brought an inflatable kayak and took it out several days. The lake was very low, so it was a bit further to get to the water, but was still easy for him to carry that down there and put it in.
We played some of the games they had there, and also cooked a number of meals in the house. It was an easy 15-minute drive to a grocery store in Tallequah and we enjoyed our meals at Big Red (close to the house) and Katfish Kitchen (in Tallequah). None of us are from the area, and first time in OK for two of us. Three of us did an easy day-trip to Tulsa, which we really enjoyed.
While this house worked great for us, I do want to give a tiny heads-up that there are a few different sets of stairs (1-4 stairs) throughout the house, and they're of varying heights (including a step up into one of the bathrooms). My 80-year-old stepmother fell two times the first day because she just didn't expect one of them (it was dark into that hallway) and she misjudged the height on the bottom step of 4 coming out of the kitchen. She was okay for each of them, but one of them scared me. If you have anyone frail or who needs a handrail for any steps this might not be the best fit. That said, my husband/daughter/I would totally choose to come back here if we were back in the area!
