A quiet, rural setting in the hills surrounding Lake Nacimiento. Great if you want to get away from city traffic and bustle - it's almost an hour drive from the city on winding hilly roads, but a short walk to the lakeshore and surrounded by nature.
Treacherous and confusing drive on narrow winding roads. Definitely make the drive during daylight hours! You'll receive very detailed driving directions when you book. PRINT THEM OUT! Cell reception is spotty throughout the drive, and you really don't want to be on these roads without the directions. Also, fill up on gas and get your groceries before starting on the rural roads.
The property itself is a detached apartment beside the hosts' main home with a well-equipped kitchen and a good espresso machine. The hosts' grill, smoker, BBQ pit, and hot tub are available for guests. I spent plenty of time in the hot tub - it's A-OK!
The hosts (Mitch and Judy) are kind, responsive and accommodating - they will happily help you with anything you need - coffee, supplies, and ideas on things to see and do nearby.
Overall, it was a fun getaway for the 3 days I was there. Great if you're looking for a quiet and remote place where you can take it easy and get back to nature for a few days.
