I thought this place was going to be a tribute to bears. Imagine my horror, then, when I saw a bear skin hanging on the wall. Make up your mind -- are you for or against bears?!
In all seriousness, though, this place is everything we could have asked for. This was my first Vrbo booking (I've done a few bookings on the red-logo competitor), and if this is any indication of the kinds of properties listed on this platform, then my only regret is not joining sooner!
The host was incredibly responsive when I reached out via Vrbo messaging. In fact, one question was answered almost instantly. The photos accurately depict the place, and we found the bear theme fun. The freezer was a bit too small to fit one of the pizzas we'd bought. No biggie ... we just ate it right away.
As the listing promises, the place feels nice and secluded. We spent a very lazy Saturday doing next to nothing, and it felt amazing. At the same time, when we did need last-minute supplies (how could we have forgotten a lighter for the fire?!), a 24-hour gas station and convenience store was only 10 minutes away.
The shower is nice and hot; the beds are very comfortable. There's no TV, but that's not why you're here ... is it? The Internet connection is satellite, so not great for a Zoom meeting, but again, that's not why you're here!
I can hardly believe that a cabin nearly the size of my house can be had for less per night than any of the respectable hotels in the area. What a great value!
