We stayed in October, a family of four and one grandparent. The property is spacious and well decorated. The location is great with some good walks from the doorstep and lots of good places to eat out within minutes in the car/ bit further on foot. (Can highly recommend Glenridding’s Beckside Bar and for a special meal, Glenridding Hotel).
The kitchen was well equipped and a great heart to the cottage, unfortunately in the lounge there isn’t a smart TV, which came as a surprise and took away from the holiday a bit. A Blu ray player was available but no discs were left to browse, no books or games (not even a pack of cards) either in the property which would have been a nice touch for rainy days with bored kids (as we can only fit so much in the car!).
There are three doubles and a twin available, all the doubles are standard size which is worth noting if you have taller/bigger people in your party (my husband is 6’5” so we kicked the kids out of the twin)! Some wood was left for a fire in the wood burner which was a lovely touch. It would have been nice to have an extra dryer for wet clothes after walks, but the utility space was really useful after long days hiking.
Thank you for a lovely stay, Kirsten & family
