This apartment was a fun and comfortable stay overall. The decor spares no detail and has a spacious airy layout. There is cool art and curios throughout the apartment, a record player with a few fun records, a Pac-Man game, etc., and the beds are comfortable. It is quiet and peaceful in the apartment most of the time for such an urban location. There were a few amenities missing that would be useful for a longer stay like ours, or if there were more than two guests, such as a wine opener and a few more coffee mugs and kitchen utensils. Also there were not enough lamps so as to avoid the glaring overhead light. The 70’s being a great era for lamps, some night stands for the bedrooms and lamps in the dining and lounge area would be a great improvement.
The host is very responsive and gracious, which made up for a few issues with the building that occurred during our stay. The elevator was broken for four days and so I would caution any guests with disabilities about this building. This isn’t the fault of the VRBO host and was out of his control but it did make our stay a bit challenging. Our host was responsive about getting in touch with maintenance but the building maintenance personnel seemed lacking.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, and the location is very convenient to the convention center where I had an event to attend. There are also many cute restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. It was a great location for us.
