Whitetail cottage is a wonderful place to stay. It is clean, the beds are comfortable, and you have all the amenities you need. Collette is a wonderful host and very helpful. Looking forward to our stay next year for another Penn State whiteout weekend.
We stayed here 3 nights for a wedding at Rolling Rails Lodge. The house is beautiful and was 20 minutes to the wedding venue. 30-35 min from State College. They had everything that we needed. The owners were very nice and very accommodating They brought us a large full length mirror and extra extension cords so we could all get ready on the wedding day. Also in\near Black Moshannon State Park Iâd stay here again
3 generations stayed at the cottage for a Penn State football weekend. The cottage was clean and check in was easy. Note that the ceilings are a bit short making the top bunk in one bedroom best suited for a child. The Start Park is beautiful, but does have you on some winding roads getting too and from places like State College
Beautiful cottage in Black Moshannon state forest! Perfectly clean and well stocked kitchen. Worked out ideally for 6 of us. After traveling 5 or 8 hours from NC and western OH it was easy to relax and enjoy time with each other. Host has everything as expected so communication was a breeze. Although it is extremely pet friendly, we did not bring pets this time. Bathroom was wonderful. We highly recommend. Drive carefully the last few miles, area has abundant wildlife. We saw a lot of deer and turkey.
This property is clean and well maintained. I was overwhelmed with the amount of extras. They have EVERYTHING you need for the perfect stay. The owners are super nice also !
The house/cottage was spacious. It accommodated our large party of 30 ppl easily. We used the outside lawn most of the time. Owners are building so the outside view is a little messy with dirt piles around the back yard which was not previously disclosed. There was a lack of outlets in the kitchen for hot food crockpots on the island but made due around the living area inside. The owners live beside the rental so there was not much privacy, if you are looking for that kind of setting. All in all the rental worked for our party and the owners are very nice.
All was good. Complete kitchen. Good bathrooms. Good beds; good towels.
Only negatives:
1). We bought several light bulbs to replace ones that we burned out
2). The downstairs bathroom had a urine smell. Not sure if it was human or pet.
We stayed here over PSU Parents weekend with our son and friends. The house is roomy with a nice comfortable common area. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Furniture and decor is all updated and in great condition. Our dogs loved exploring the yard. It was a short walk to the trails at Black Moshannon State Park.
Very nice place and being our first family trip and very first time doing vrbo we could have been happier. However write the information down to access the property first because once you get there, there is no cell service at least with verizon and straight talk. We you get into the house the have a very nice little book that goes over the rule and has passwords and such incase you forget.
We would definitely stay again.
Property was great! Everything worked out perfect for our weekend. The location is perfect for access to Black Moshannon park and all the activities. Would definitely stay here again.
Cottage was adorable exactly as pictured. Host had great communication and the cottage had so many extra necessities it was amazing!! If ever needed to return to area would stay again!
House and overall experience were outstanding! Family weekend for Olympic Wrestling Trials with siblings, their families and our dad. Pressure for me to pick the right place, and this was it. Nothing but compliments from the entire group. Everyone is already looking forward to another stay!
Absolutely beautiful! This place is perfect, great location, awesome host, spacious and has everything you need. Spent our evenings relaxing by the fire and watching the wildlife. Canât wait to do it again!
While it's a perfect location for many other hobbies, we rented this house to ride on the Snow Shoe Rails to Trails system. With a short trip down the road you're on your way to the SSRT Black Bear Trailhead. After that its game on as we did 95 miles and 102 miles in 2 days crusing up to Bloody Skillet and back. There is a lot more riding to do but we just ran out of time. The property manager is in the know of the local spots and can guide you on where to ride.
Parking is great for trucks and trailers. We backed in 2 F150s with 14ft and 18ft trailers with zero issues. A third truck/trailer/utv combo is easily doable. A forth truck and trailer combo may get tight while trying to keep off the grass.
The kids loved the place as they immediately swarmed to the swing and games. We didnt utilize the fire pit, smores, or patio but it's all there if you want it.
The house was spotless and its dog friendly. With AT&T i did not have cell service and my brothers Verizon phone had some cell service. The WiFi was great as it powered my phone downloading Gopro videos, the kids tablets, and streaming to the TV at the same time.
I'm thrilled with my visit and cant wait to plan the next one.
