Our nonprofit leadership team enjoys an annual retreat at Crystal Beach. We chose Seagrape this year because it offered a bathroom for each traveler, and the owner allowed guests to use the cargo elevator for a reasonable fee (a refreshing change).
The interior was immaculate, warm and welcoming. The ocean view from the kitchen and living room was fantastic. The bedrooms were spacious, with plenty of towels, and the beds were comfy. The master bath even had a lighted magnifying makeup mirror. The kitchen was cozy for five adults but equipped with more than we needed. The coffee station and mini fridge upstairs added a nice touch.
Perhaps it was due to previous hurricane damage, but the outdoor deck furniture was not ideal. One of the lounge chairs was broken. Also, the cushions were quite dirty. Bird droppings, etc. are expected and inevitable, and we normally just hose the furniture down. Obviously, you can't hose off cushions and use them right away. I'd encourage guests to bring extra blankets/towels to lay over them. Prior to our arrival, the owner advised the golf cart was broken. We rented one from the RV park across the street, which was convenient and saved us some money, too (we used it only 1 day).
The best part was the peace and quiet! The beach was easily accessible and lacked the traffic we're used to, which was a blessing and made our stay so peaceful. I would definitely recommend Seagrape to fellow travelers!
