Stay away! The listing included a golf cart, a huge factor in choosing this home, but upon arrival, we found the owner lacked insurance for it so that we couldn't use it. The house was 78 degrees and got hotter with the AC running, reaching 80. After multiple calls, we contacted VRBO, and an HVAC tech arrived at 1 am. The next day, the owner refunded the first night and suggested renting a cart, but the rental place had none. That evening, the AC failed again. The owner gave condescending explanations and suggested keeping the drapes closed all day. On the third day, another HVAC technician came, disrupting our plans. The house was wretched. The twin beds were thin and crunchy, and the queen bed slid on the platform. The kitchen was dirty, with a filthy fridge and dishwasher. Coffee mugs had to be washed due to crusty shelf residue. Expired condiments made us wary of using anything. The laundry room had no airflow, making it a sauna. Clothes had to be hung to dry or run through the dryer 3 times. The closets were filthy and musty, so we lived out of suitcases. The front window was covered in dried dog slobber. The couch slipcover needed constant adjustment. The one full bathroom had a modest remodel, but there was a pile of hair under the toilet paper holder. We felt we wasted several thousand dollars. The poorly maintained, outdated home felt like a musty fish camp with cheap upgrades. The golf cart and AC consumed too much vacation time, and the owners were condescending.
