Short stay

Great location, next door to the Eventide Restaurant and near the Old Port. Valet parking was convenient and easy. Staff were helpful with an added blanket, parking, and directions. Room was spacious and clean. It was just one night, but we would go back.

Great stay

I'm glad I stayed here for my quick trip to Portland. I arrived hours early but my room was ready. Staff were overall very helpful and my room was comfortable and clean. I used the fitness center every morning. I was able to sleep in and still get the free breakfast every morning. All the restaurants I wanted to visit were within walking distance. I went from Boston to Portland on Amtrak and was able to take public transit to the hotel as well.

Only one major issue in my humble opinion, parking!!! $40 fee for parking, I've stayed at hotels from Maine to California and never paid for parking. If parking is a premium in the Portland downtown area, which it appears to be, $20 would be acceptable, still a problem as far as im concerned.

Met expectations and then some!

We were very pleased with the Hampton Inn Portland Waterfront. Our room on the 5th floor had a marvelous view of the harbor - we could have spent hours watching the ferries and tugs working! The room was spacious and comfortable and had sufficient linens for the 2 of us. The buffet breakfast offered a large selection of items, but some things (oatmeal, cheese omelets, and baked goods) were pretty mediocre; the waffles, scrambled eggs, and bacon were quite good. We applaud the efforts of Hilton to be ecologically responsible - but we do wish paper cutlery in the breakfast area were replaced with bamboo and foam cups in the rooms were replaced with ceramic mugs. The price for our long weekend stay was very reasonable. We will very definitely be back for another stay!

I stayed here with my 2 daughters for an athletic competition and it was convenient to the highway(s). We stayed here to beat a snowstorm and they had valet parking (worth the additional charge). Car was cleared off and ready to go when we needed to leave. Restaurants were safe to walk to you when it was snowing and cold. Overall we'd stay here again and it was perfect for our needs. Free breakfast in the morning, pool for my kids to swim and plenty of wifi.

You get what you paid for.

Blood on the ceiling of our room and a bunch of spider eggs and nest. Room cleaning didn’t even visit our room the following day, just completely skipped us. Not the worst experience but far from good. Maybe the only care during the summer season…

Solid B hotel

I would say it was a solid B hotel. No thrills, but with all the great basic amenities, it is what we expected in a hotel that delivers. Extra point for the great staffs, microwave and bath towel rack in the room. Not so great is the advertised Queen sizes beds turn out to be a full sizes beds. The shower head was way too high to get any warm water for a 5’ person.

Minor inconveniences but hotel was good.

The hotel room, and hotel itself was great, The key entry to the pool wasn't working, and I got a ticket for on-street parking after being told by the valet that overnight parking on Sunday was free... which isn't exactly the hotel's fault. Overall would stay here again.
