I have no idea how this hotel has 4 stars or a high rating on Expedia. It’s not the worst place in the world, but as someone who has traveled to providence frequently I would highly recommend picking any other option. The hotel is ridiculously outdated, and offers nothing but aesthetics. It’s cute and charming in the lobby, but the rooms are ridiculously small and offer nothing. There is no closet or space at all to unpack, there is not even a fridge or a coffee maker, the rooms are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING, the entire room is dismal. The elevator is actually nightmare fuel so get ready to climb 4 flights of stairs. Lastly, the woman with black hair and glasses who worked the night shift Sunday the 15th was so rude, she gave me a nasty look because she had to open the door. Would not recommend to anyone. Even someone I hated.
We stayed over night for a Xmas party up on Federal Hill. 20 minute walk. We had a suite with king size bed. A sitting area and a flat screen TV. Water in shower was very hot. Cute little speakeasy bar downstairs with Richard the bar tender who expressed a lot of local knowledge. Only disappointment was the coffee bar was not open on Saturday AM. Plenty of onsite parking. I will return.

Do Not Stay Here
Disappointing. Very. Room was very cold, heating not working, was supplied with a space heater and told I could get more blankets. A frequent tapping coming from god knows where throughout the day--potentially disturbing sleep. and NO coffee provided in the room or at the barista station in the lobby! Had to dress, put on a coat and walk around an unfamiliar city to find coffee in sub-freezing weather!
The temperature outside the night I stayed was in the 20s. The temperature inside my room was exceptionally wonderful and toasty! The bed was quite comfortable however I might suggest upgrade to memory foam.
The staff at this hotel were so, so nice and so accommodating. My room had no heat and no ac- there was a standing fan in the bathroom and a space heater in the bedroom. The whole room and hotel weren’t very clean. I checked out right after I got to my room and found other accommodations, but again, the staff was amazing.

Solid for one night business stay
Make sure you get the bigger room so you have somewhere to put your clothes. Also no irons. Some of the staff are too hip to smile and don’t rely on the coffee shop to be open in the morning. Having said that, better than most of the standard options in Providence.

Overall Meh
I walked in here already angry because I paid for my room in advance, and the week before the price dropped and the hotel wasn’t willing to match the new lower price.
After checking in I mentioned to the desk clerk “the website says there is a free cocktail” and then they rolled their eyes and said, “Ughhhhh, fine, I can do that.” Seriously? Then proceeds to tell me, “Well our bar isn’t open tonight.” False advertising.
The room was tiny, fine for one person but two would be a nightmare. Ripped up rug and scratched up hardwood floors are supposed to be artsy/cool but look trashy. Creepy painting on the wall. Nightmare vintage elevator.
Positives were the Bath products smelled great, room was clean, and the location was great to walk around downtown.
My bathroom smelled horrible! Had to leave the soor closed.
Shower walls had mold everywhere

Front desk staff was really nice and the area in which the hotel is located is walkable with lots of shops and restaurants nearby and so that was convenient. Although the hotel room was clean, I still found hair under the pillow and above the sink in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable but the room I got was a little small and didn’t really have any places to put my luggage and bags.
We stayed at the Dean shortly after it opened in 2014. Coming back 10 years later, the hotel definitely looks 10 years older. More wear and tear was noticeable. The coffee bar was closed the first morning of our stay which was disappointing but luckily there are a few coffee options to walk to close by.
I love a boutique hotel for all its quirks. Love the wooden floor. Similar to my house. Bed was comfy. Blinds in the room made it plenty dark. Shower was a bit too small. Coffee in lobby cafe was good. Honestly, no complaints. Plenty of street parking for my car. Walking distance to everything I needed.
Couple. 2 night stay.
Reception staff friendly and helpful.
Parking was busy and expensive.
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable but could do with more pillows as there was a gap between the bed and headboard.
Windows in room are alarmed so cannot open. Cooling fan in window worked fine. We couldn't work the heater fan in the room.
Restroom was clean but small, and sliding door left a gap where the bedroom area was visible.
Small TV worked great.
Would stay again.
