Holiday house Oberterzen for 8 persons with 3 bedrooms - Holiday house
ED Ref. 1558043
Holidays in the monument combines heritage preservation and tourism. Historically valuable construction tools are taken over, gently renovated and rented as holiday apartments. The model makes a double profit: the monuments get a new future and holidaymakers experience a stay in an extraordinary building. The idea is realized by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Homeland Security.
Parking: Two parking spaces are located directly at the house and are uncovered. The access to the house is guaranteed.
Public transport: The Zürich S-Bahn takes you directly to Unterterzen in winter, from where you can reach Oberterzen within five minutes by gondola. During the summer months you have to change once in Ziegelbrücke. The house is almost directly next to the cable car station in Oberterzen.
Attention: The Flumserberg mountain railways carry out a revision in spring and autumn. During the revision, the cable cars do not run or do not run regularly. Please inform yourself on the homepage of Bergbahnen Flumserberg or by phone 081/720 15 15.
Number of persons 8: There is a cot (up to 2 years) available. The house can accommodate eight guests (plus baby). There are four double rooms available. On the ground floor is the luxurious kitchen with a chéminée. Adjacent is the living room with a small adjoining room. From there it goes to the sun room, where you can open to the south, the large windows and relax from the sauna. The sauna is located below the sun room. On the second floor there are two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (one with shower / WC and one with bath / WC). In the 3. Floor is a large room with a double bed and two in the attic fitted twin beds associated with a shower and a separate toilet. From the anteroom stairs lead up to the beautiful roof terrace.
Extras: There is a sauna with a sun room / relaxation room available.
Garden: There is no private garden to the house, but a beautiful roof terrace.
WLAN: Is available. In the room you will find a complete home cinema equipment.
Open: The house can be rented all year round.
Pets: Pets are allowed.
Altitude: 700 meters above sea level.
SCHINDELHAUS - Luxurious single-family dwelling from the 18th. century
History & Information
Built in 1755, this mountain farmhouse exemplifies how modern luxury can be skilfully combined with historical substance. In the core building, the house shows its original appearance. The beaten planks, the low ceiling and the old Täfer let guess how mountain farmers in the 18th Century have lived. The former arbors were in such a desolate condition that they could not be preserved. Maintaining the old cubature, two new additions have been created that offer space for amenities such as a sauna, a fully equipped kitchen or a sun room. Located in the immediate vicinity of the gondola lift station of the Flumserberger, up to eight people can spend a luxurious holiday in the historic building all year round in the Schindelhaus.
renovation
The architect Paula Giger was responsible for the renovation. Together with the cantonal preservation of monuments, she developed a conversion concept that has once again made visible a great deal of buried property from this historic building. In order to do justice to a modern use, the extensions were completely demolished and rebuilt with such large window openings that the historic center section also receives additional exposure. These annexes now offer space for modern comforts, such as a very spacious kitchen, a sauna, a sun room and a roof terrace. The entrance points to the original smoke kitchen and forms the highest room in the house. In the modern east gazebo there is a spacious kitchen and a dining area. The living room can be found in the historic part of the house and has been left in its original state as far as possible. In the west gazebo, a light-flooded sunroom and the entrance to the sauna were recreated. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with two beds each. Next to each room is a wet room with shower / or. Bathroom and toilet. Also on this floor is an example of how skilfully the interplay between the historical part and the new Laubenanbauten succeeds and how history and comfort harmoniously go hand in hand. The attic houses another bedroom that can accommodate up to four people. The roof was opened after consultation with the preservation of monuments and now offers access to the roof terrace, which offers a unique view of the Churfirsten and the sickle crest.
IMPORTANT SUPPLEMENT
The shingle house is a monument that has been renovated with great respect for the existing substance. The tenant is aware of this and meets the object with care. Although technically state-of-the-art, certain functional details do not conform to current standards and harbor a potential source of danger. These circumstances are known to the renter. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal disclaim all liability.
