Les points faibles : Propreté
Review of 612 Pic a Lac , Loon Cottage
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage although this was mainly due to the friendship of the four women. The views are breathtaking in the midst of nature’s beauty.
There should be better signage on the road leading to the cottage. We arrived late afternoon, GPS on but service is not the best. We drove way past the small number sign. Four women alone on a wilderness road, no phone signal, no GPS and no SOS…..scary to say the least.
Upon entry to the cottage, we were hit with cold dampness. Heat source , a wood stove, no paper, no kindling inside or outside could be found. Obviously unacceptable with our damp spring NS weather.
Description stated a king, a queen and a double bed. There was a king in the loft but a single bed in one bedroom and more 3/4 versus queen, in the other bedroom. Sheets and pillowcases were worn thin and nubby in places but were clean.
Seating to relax for an evening would have been much more enjoyable if there had been four chairs as seating in the living room area. As it was, 2 sat on the couch, one in the recliner and one on the hard , wooden , kitchen chair. Again not ideal.
Outside furniture ( chairs) were dirty and had to be cleaned before able to be used.
There was no microwave, a very inexpensive item that makes it so convenient to heat up or reheat a quick bite.
It should have been mentioned that phone service can be spotty at times. A bit of airing out, some kindling, would have made a big difference
Would we return to Loon Cottage? No!
