Pros:
Communication- the property manager was extremely responsive leading up to our stay and after. He sent a few notes before hand explaining some local eateries and favorite nearby places. Emailed when we arrived to check on us and the night before to wish us safe travels.
Home- the home was well stocked and comfortable. There were even some kid friendly plates and cups that I thought was a nice touch.
Decor- The home was well decorated with a travel theme. I think it is relatively new and everything was clean and well done.
Security- There were security cameras in the front and the back, a lock key pad in the front and back.
Cons:
The location: Mom traveling solo with two little kids and I was very uncomfortable with the location. This is in no way the fault of the owner, the house has been flipped and done so well but the area was rough. I never had an issue but driving in upon arrival… I’m glad I did so in the daylight. The home is located in South Richmond and, as in most big cities, being near a downtown can be seedy. Again, I was traveling with two kids under 3 to see family so we did not need to be near bars or restaurants. If you’re a bachelor coming to be near restaurants and bars- this is the place for you! As a newer listing, there was not mention of the location in the other reviews so I was unaware that the location might be less than desirable as a single female with babies.
Thin walls: we could very easily here the neighbors in this duplex. However, I actually did not count this as a big con because it made me feel more secure confirming there were people right next door albeit I could hear most of their movements and tv at night.
Overall this is a nice property, and will probably be great for some travelers- just wasn’t the right for our family due to the location.
