My husband and I had a fantastic stay at the Rio Othon Palace! The breakfast was absolutely delightful, with plenty of options and a gorgeous view to start the day. The staff was very pleasant and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience — their hospitality really stood out. If you’re booking a room, I highly recommend choosing an oceanfront view — waking up to the sight of Copacabana Beach is an experience you won’t forget. The renovated rooms on the higher floors are definitely worth it; they’re modern, comfortable, and offer the best views. The pool area is beautiful, though it’s on the smaller side and fills up quickly, especially given the size of the hotel. During peak hours, particularly around breakfast, the elevators can get busy, so factor in a little extra time to get around the hotel. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay in Rio de Janeiro, combining comfort, location, and stunning views. The pleasant and attentive staff made the experience even better. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio!

This used to be an excellent hotel but obviously now outdated by the the changing world of technology. Outlets close to the beds with usd drive are lacking. No microwave oven. The room comfort seems to be minimal compared to the hotel standings. The staff is helpful and professional.

The check in takes forever more than 30 min per person , I was here for a wedding and it was a nightmare for the makeup artist to come and do our make up with out paying and extra fee , that’s not the worst We stay we out electricity From 4 pm to 10 am next day, they could gives answers or refund us , our room was in the 9th floor and to leave with all the babes was also almost impossible because we have to go 2 times to get everything and the room was dark , just imagine sleep on the hottest weather with our air conditioning. Just be alware is not a very friendly hotel for vest or visitors , and not friendly staff and the staff don’t speak English as well . The hotel itself it’s not the worst but the service and the other incidents make it a terrible mistake

O have used the Rio Othon Palace many, many times. The hotel has done a great renovation of its lobby, lobby bar lounge, pool area and roof terrace. Excellent views, and aesthetics. Just wonderful, however, I stayed in room 1213 oceanfront, great view but it had a water pipe water marking in the bathroom which I can only bla.e for lack of attention by their facilities management. Otherwise excellent!

Only a few positives but worth noting: location is great, the view on the beach is amazing and the rooftop is very good On the negative, this is not a 4-star hotel. I read in other comments that it was run-down and somewhat dirty but I didn’t expect it to be that bad! The room was very old, carpet was dirty and smelly, bed sheets and mostly towels were dirty and stained. Clearly the room has never been renovated since it opened. The AC was very loud and the windows didn’t close, you could hear everything from outside. There was an awful continuous noise when turning on the lights in the bathroom. At some point we didn’t have any water running. They do not offer slippers, you have to pay for them. WiFi is quite bad and is in and out Breakfast was horrible! Very cheap, they do not even clean the tables in between clients. We go there, stayed 5 minutes then ran away (fortunately there’s a very nice cafe that does great pastries not too far - Cafe Ao Leu) In summary, this is absolutely not worth the price but if you don’t care about the room and breakfast and you only want very nice views then that’ll do.

I had an Ocean view room and it was spectacular. It’s a very convenient hotel if you want to do tours either through the hotel or operators do daily pickups there. The Location right on Copacabana Beach is very convenient. It’s a great place to stay in Rio.

This is NOT a 4 stars standards Doesn’t look at all like on the pictures. So old. So outdated. Mold, rust, stains, dirt, unsanitary conditions, everything so old that all the plastics turned yellow. Poor quality breakfast. Checkin/checkout taking AGES (40min for the checkin) and one very arrogant lady at the reception. Very slow wifi. No plug near the bed. Also the pool area doesn’t open until 9am so it’s impossible to see the sunrise from there (like on the pictures). AND the pool was in maintenance my whole stay without previous notice. Walk your way from this terrible place!
